Recently, the creators of the Half-Rats: Parasomnia modification from Heath Games studio reminded about themselves again. The developers decided to stop distributing their project on Steam — they cannot finish it:

Parasomnia is leaving Steam. To those of you who enjoyed the game — thank you. To those who didn't — we apologize and understand you. It never fully realized our vision, though we truly tried our best. Update 1.5, or rather, “2.0,” seems like it will never be completed, and there's no point in continuing to sell this game on Steam without it. Technically, and frankly, this game was never finished and probably never will be — and in many ways, it doesn't reflect HG's principles. Leaving this unfinished project publicly available would be a great disservice to all of us, so it will be removed.

According to the plot, the main character of the Half-Rats: Parasomnia horror mod gets into debt and goes in search of treasure:

July 1883. Half-Rats, as is often the case with him, is going through tough times and is anxious about the future. One fateful night — and he, carelessly, decides to drown his sorrows in strong alcohol… as a result, he racks up a debt at a pub that he knows he cannot pay. However, instead of reproaches and rude expulsion, he is told a story that is hard to believe. A story of untold riches — but also of even greater danger. Had he not been in such a desperate situation, he would not have thought of going in search of an almost forgotten and practically unknown city, which might turn out to be a wild goose chase. His doubts are somewhat dispelled when the innkeeper, showing unusual — though strangely expressive — sincerity, sketches a rough map for him.

The Half-Rats: Parasomnia page on Steam is available at the following link. The unfinished patch “Half-Rats: Parasomnia 2.0 (Unfinished Patch)” is presented on ModDB.
