The creators of the truck driver simulator American Truck Simulator have published a new development diary dedicated to the Illinois expansion.
SCS Software decided to show some shots from Chicago. Map designer Lucas spoke about his approach to work:
Chicago is a unique city. Many know it from movies and games. My goal was to create a believable version that all of us could be proud of – not just our players, but also the locals.
According to Lucas, players in Chicago can expect the most massive panorama the developers have ever created:
We tried to make [the city] as accurate as possible in terms of scale, space, and optimization... the fact that you can actually drive into it is just crazy, and I'm very happy that we managed to implement it.
American Truck Simulator will also feature new special cargoes – the DLC will introduce three routes for transporting vehicle bodies and other large objects.
