Recently, the creators of the ambitious Skywind project released a new development diary and talked about their progress. They are creating a remake of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind based on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim engine.
Currently, 2D graphics (art) are almost completely ready, and 3D is 90% complete; clothing and a "small set of tiles" (graphic elements) need to be finalized.
- Work on navmesh (elements used for NPC navigation) continues.
- Animations are 75% ready — developers recently received final 3D models and now need to create unique animations.
- Exteriors are 86% ready and interiors are 79% ready.
- Visual effects are 80% ready. Modders are working on lighting and weather.
- Sound effects are 65% ready (they need to be completed for creatures and more), and music is 73% ready.
- Most of the game is already written (96%), it remains to complete descriptions for various items, format books, and check the text.
- Voice acting is 92% ready: roles are assigned, and 50 actors are currently re-recording lines.
Skywind has been in development for about 14 years, but the project still has no release date.
