Recently, the creators of Escape from Tarkov conducted an in-game survey about Prestige — a system that allows players to reset their progress and receive bonuses for it. To access this option, players essentially need to complete "Tarkov."
Battlestate Games reviewed the feedback and decided to revise some aspects of the Prestige system:
According to the survey results, 47% of players noted that Prestige should motivate progress resets for valuable rewards, and 46% — maintain long-term interest through repeated playthroughs. However, a significant portion of the audience still has questions about the transparency of conditions, difficulty, and logic of individual requirements. Taking into account the collected feedback, we can now outline several key areas we are working on.
The developers are simplifying the acquisition of the first Prestige levels — they aim to "lower the entry barrier and make the first steps in the system more understandable and predictable for players."
For example, for the first Prestige, players will need to reach level 25 instead of 55, accumulate 10 million virtual rubles (instead of 20), and will not need to level up skills or complete "The Tour."
For Prestige levels one through four, players will not have to complete "The Collector" (obtain "Kappa") — accessing this quest requires completing many difficult tasks, including the infamous "Marksman from God," which demands demonstrating mastery of bolt-action rifle shooting.
The developers of Escape from Tarkov noted that they are working on adapting Prestige for PvE mode, as well as increasing the flexibility of individual requirements, including possible alternative ways to fulfill them.
