Crimson Desert Player Breaks Speedrun World Record - Took Less Than 12 Hours

With a certain approach, players can complete Crimson Desert quickly.

Some players spend over 100 hours in Crimson Desert without ever leaving the starting region, while others find a way to complete the massive game very, very quickly. Recently, a speedrunner named harpo669 broke the world record for speedrunning the action-RPG.

The previous record was set by GuryDub, who completed Crimson Desert in 12 hours, 20 minutes, and 3 seconds. harpo669 managed it much faster — in 11 hours, 26 minutes, and 14 seconds. Both runs were performed in the Any% (Glitchless) category, meaning they were not allowed to use bugs to facilitate their playthrough.

For comparison, according to HowLongToBeat, where players share their completion data, the “average” user needs 62.5 hours to complete the main story, 125 hours for the main story and side content, and 100% completion of Crimson Desert can take 250+ hours.

The recording of harpo669's run is publicly available on YouTube, it can be accessed via the following link.

Pearl Abyss studio continues to actively release updates for Crimson Desert — the next update is expected to be released soon.
