First reviews of Directive 8020 - new Supermassive Games horror surprised the media
Directive 8020 has already received its first reviews ahead of release. The new installment of The Dark Pictures Anthology from Supermassive Games launched with an average score of 76%, becoming one of the most ambitious games in the series.
The plot sends players to the colonial ship "Cassiopeia", whose crew arrives on the planet Tau Ceti f, a potential new hope for humanity. As in previous games in the anthology, every decision affects the relationships between the characters and their fate.
Reviewers particularly praise the sci-fi atmosphere and the inspiration from "Alien". They also positively noted the tension, visual style, acting, and the large number of plot branches, which make you want to replay the story.
However, it was not without criticism. Some reviewers noted an uneven pace of narration, predictable episodes, and insufficient development of individual characters. There are also complaints about minor technical issues.
Ultimately, Directive 8020 is not called a revolution in the genre, but many consider it one of the strongest parts of The Dark Pictures Anthology.
