The developers of Resident Evil Requiem managed to please many players with high-quality graphics, but some saw potential for improvement. For example, a modder under the nickname JoHien recently presented his version of improved ray tracing.
The developer explained that he improves rasterization quality, expands ray tracing settings beyond the in-game "High" preset, and makes minor improvements to path tracing. The project includes a shadow preset, settings for SSR (Screen Space Reflections), SSAO (Screen Space Ambient Occlusion), global illumination/reflections, Radiance Cache, and more.
As an example, JoHien suggests looking at a screenshot with the main character Grace: on the left is the "vanilla" version with ray tracing on "High" settings, and on the right is with the modification.
The "RE9 Graphics Enhancement" modification for Resident Evil Requiem is distributed for free via Nexus Mods. Players will have access to various graphics settings, including "managers" for ray tracing and paths.
