Subnautica 2 is expected to be released on May 14 in "early access" format. Two days before that, information about a leaked build spread within the pirate community.
It is claimed that some have already gained unauthorized access to Subnautica 2. The source of this leak is unknown — pre-loading only recently started, and some users suggest that the developers might have simply forgotten to encrypt the game build.
There is also a theory that Subnautica 2 might have been intentionally leaked by a journalist or blogger who was provided an early copy for review. In addition, a hacker attack on an early access holder of the game is not ruled out.
Subnautica 2 is the most anticipated game on Steam (it has been added to wishlists more than any other). In second place is the team shooter Deadlock from Valve, and the top three is rounded out by Forza Horizon 6 — this racing game was also recently leaked online.
The Subnautica 2 trailer is available at the following link. The game is expected to spend about 2-3 years in "early access," with developers adding new content and features.
