Arc Raiders developers recently presented a new dev diary dedicated to their plans for supporting the game. Embark Studios assessed their capabilities and decided to abandon their initial approach.
Initially, they planned to release monthly updates, but this plan proved to be unsustainable. Too much pressure was put on the developers — as a result, the creators of Arc Raiders decided to switch to releasing two major updates per year:
We have decided to release major updates twice a year — more substantial and significant, with the goal of truly changing how you play. Don't worry: a separate team will continue to support ARC Raiders daily — regular updates, balance adjustments, bug fixes, store updates, and in-game events will not disappear.
The first major update of the new format for Arc Raiders is called Frozen Trail, and its release is scheduled for October 2026. According to the developers, this will be the largest update since the game's release:
Frozen Trail is just the beginning of the direction we want to take ARC Raiders, and we will share more in the coming months.
Frozen Trail plans to introduce new enemies, expand the progression system, add the largest map, reveal lore, and expand players' arsenal.
