In May, testing began for a major update to the Steam Marketplace – Valve redesigned the user interface. The changes are not just cosmetic: search, filter system, and listing display have been improved.

Valve decided to start the test with items for the famous online shooter:

Because Counter-Strike 2 items are very popular on the marketplace, we used them to conduct experiments and build an extensive item integration system. Now we look forward to seeing the new features used in other games.

Sale listings can now include more images, descriptions, and notes about information that varies from item to item: wear rating, condition, paint pattern, attached accessories, etc.

Developers will be able to show unique properties of items listed for sale. In the context of CS2, this means that information such as paint pattern, wear rating, and condition has become more visible.

The system works with accessories:

With an improved understanding of how attachable items like stickers and charms work, we can offer users direct links to their sale listings on the marketplace.
