Russian-speaking gamers criticized the creators of Outbound - soon after, they removed Russian from the list of supported languages
There were many complaints about the cozy game's creators.
The cozy game Outbound was recently released. Some users, including Russian-speaking ones, began to report technical problems, and the developers started responding to reviews on Steam. They suggested that dissatisfied users reconsider their rating, and in some cases, even delete the review if they decided to request a refund. This led to the opposite effect — even more negative reviews appeared.
Another reason for dissatisfaction was a strange incident with the Russian language. The demo version and the release version of Outbound included Russian, but a few hours after the game's release, the developers removed its mention from the list of supported languages, which also prompted some players to leave negative reviews:
Positive feedback is not supported. This product does not support positive feedback. Please review the list of positive reviews before purchasing. For some reason, they removed Russian from the list of supported languages. Yes, it's in the game, for now. But if the developer pulls such stunts, they might remove it from the game with the next patch. What did they want to prove to whom? Well, if they don't need my money, I'll give it to someone else who behaves appropriately, not like an offended child.
The creators of Outbound have already apologized for such "responses" to player reviews:
First and foremost, we sincerely apologize for how our recent responses appeared. We understand that our communication seemed inappropriate to many of you, and we are truly sorry. To be frank, the last 24 hours after release have been extremely stressful. We started with great enthusiasm, but release brings with it intense pressure and a lot of emotions. Looking back, we realize that we chose the wrong tone of communication and did not approach the situation with due care.
Currently, the developers are working on fixing Outbound. They have not yet answered players' questions about the situation with the Russian language, but they have announced that they are working on fixing the problem with connecting to servers from Russia.
