Svensson, who is responsible for third-party content at Sony, noted that publishers and studios are now making "very sensible decisions," and the industry itself is moving in the right direction.

I am in an extremely privileged position because I have a great view of what games will be released in the next 3, 4, 5 years. I really can't explain it to you... last year was incredible for games.

According to the Sony representative, the situation will get even better:

This year will be even better. Next year will be even better. The content trajectory is incredibly positive. As an industry, we should be very optimistic about the direction we are heading, despite the challenges.

Svensson believes that the main challenge now is to reach players on an increasing number of devices and across different audiences.

I don't see any catastrophic times for the industry. Our partners and platform holders are making very smart decisions. Be calmer than you think.

Against the backdrop of these statements, Sony continues internal changes. The company closed Bluepoint Games, and PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst previously spoke about rising development costs and a difficult market situation.
