The problem with Marathon is not the quality of the game, but the market situation. The extraction shooter has to compete with other major projects, including ARC Raiders. Sony, however, is not going to stop supporting the game and wants to retain the audience with new content and improved mechanics.
Now PlayStation's main bet is on other releases. One of them was Saros, released in April. The game attracted attention due to its unusual plot, but the source also calls sales weak.
