On May 14, the underwater survival game Subnautica 2 was released on Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam in "early access" format. The game is also available with a Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
It is Steam's most anticipated game (No. 1 by wishlist count), and shortly after launch, its online player count soared. According to SteamDB data, the peak reached 467 thousand players.
The game ranked 29th in the chart for maximum peak concurrent players on Steam.
In 28th place is Life is Strange 2, which had a peak of 468 thousand players. This game was given away for free, which allowed it to achieve such a result.
In 30th place is the free Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium with a peak of 463 thousand players. This online count was achieved by launching many bots to farm Steam collectible cards.
