The controller looks like a direct successor to the Xbox Elite 2. The photos show a replaceable D-pad, back paddles, and an updated design.

Most attention is drawn to two unknown elements at the bottom of the gamepad, resembling small wheels. It is not yet clear what they are for. The Verge suggests that these could be additional customization elements or new control functions in specific games, such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, where input precision is important.

The Xbox Elite 3 will also feature a new pairing button, allowing quick switching between console, PC, and cloud. In Xbox Cloud Gaming mode, the controller will be able to connect directly to servers, which should reduce latency. This feature will also appear on the junior gamepad model, which also leaked on the same day.

Another change is the battery. According to documents, the capacity will be 1528 mAh, which is less than the Xbox Elite 2 with its 2050 mAh battery. The impact of this decision can only be assessed after testing.

A possible announcement platform is the Xbox Showcase event in June, where Microsoft might not only show the controller but also launch sales immediately.
