Path of Exile 2 developers showed redesigned unique items - "The Dream" and "Hollow Mask" from the "Return of the Ancients" update

One item changes the mechanics of health flasks, while the other will allow you to see the hidden gifts of the Goddess.

Path of Exile 2 developers recently talked about campaign changes that will be implemented in the game with the "Return of the Ancients" update, and now they have decided to discuss unique items.

Path of Exile 2 Game Director Mark Roberts, in a new diary, showcased two unique items from the Wildwood. He explained that these are existing items that have been completely redesigned: the renamed Dreamer's Shell — "The Dream," and also the "Hollow Mask."

Mark explained the mechanics of "The Dream":

While you are wearing "The Dream," you forgo the normal use of health flasks and instead constantly passively regenerate health with these flasks.

In addition, "The Dream" grants the "Ritual of Restoration" seal skill. Players can use it to summon the goddess for help, creating an area that enhances the defense and regeneration of everyone within the circle. While the character is inside the summoning circle, the bonuses to their defense and regeneration become stronger as mana is consumed.

Wearing the "Hollow Mask" will allow the player to see the Goddess's gifts in the form of ancient flowers — these flowers manifest as various forms of Wildwood wisps: by collecting them, the player will gain charges for health flasks, mana flasks, or amulets.

Mark also mentioned another mechanic of the mask — it will be possible to share the collected wisps:

With its roots deeply embedded in you, the "Hollow Mask" makes you share any wisps you collect with your allies, and they will affect more than just you. You might consider using both of these items when playing with friends, as, especially in combination with each other, they represent a powerful combination to support your allies.
