This week, Best Buy caused a stir among Grand Theft Auto VI fans. The company sent letters to partners offering participation in a marketing campaign where bloggers could promote GTA VI pre-orders and earn a commission. Journalist Tom Henderson from Insider Gaming confirmed that the letters were authentic and the campaign was indeed being prepared.
Many players then expected pre-orders to open as early as next Monday. However, new data suggests that Rockstar Games and Take-Two changed their plans at the last minute.
Tom Henderson stated in the Insider Gaming podcast that the editorial team does not expect pre-orders to launch on Monday. According to him, sources do not anticipate any specific information about GTA VI until July or even August.
It is also reported that Rockstar does not plan a sudden launch of pre-orders without prior announcement. First, the company must announce the start date, and only then open sales.
If the information is confirmed, official editions, prices, and pre-order bonuses will only appear in a few weeks. Given the release of GTA 6 in November, such a schedule seems expected for Rockstar's large-scale marketing campaign.
