Text Chat Added to Killing Floor 3, Optimization Improved
Developers continue to gradually improve the technical state of Killing Floor 3.
In May, the creators of the cooperative shooter Killing Floor 3 released a major technical update with a new feature and various improvements.
A full-fledged text chat system has been implemented in the game across all platforms, with full cross-platform communication support. Players can customize chat transparency, and controller support has also been implemented: "opening chat with a gamepad, scrolling with the right stick, virtual keyboard on Xbox and PS5".
In addition, the developers of Killing Floor 3 have implemented optimization improvements. The game should now make better use of the processor:
Key changes include improved multi-pass LOD optimization for [enemy] models, as well as more efficient handling of audio component updates and sound occlusion systems.
A special trailer was released to celebrate the chat's launch.
The full description of the May update for Killing Floor 3 is available here.
Previously, a new season started in the game – a mini-campaign (missions), a new map, a character, a "long" 10-wave mode, a boss, weapons, and more were added.
