YouTube channel author Luli Studio recently presented a new video dedicated to his ambitious project. He is developing a remake of "Resident Evil 3.5 Hookman" — a canceled version of RE4 that Capcom showed at E3 2003. The demo was darker, and Leon Kennedy explored a castle where he encountered the pursuing enemy, Hookman (a man with a hook).
Luli Studio showed the process of exploring the castle and noted that he implemented a hallucination effect:
We start in the classic armor room, then move through the creepy doll room, dark corridors, the dining room, and finally reach the painting with Hook Man. WATCH TO THE END: we return through the entire location to show the classic "blue filter" hallucination mode for the first time!
The blogger clarified that "this first gameplay is a demonstration of the atmosphere and environment." He is currently actively working on Hook Man's artificial intelligence and the combat system. In the final demo, the environment will dynamically switch to the "blue" hallucination mode every time Hook Man attacks.
Next, Luli Studio plans to show "early gameplay tests with fixed camera angles."
