Recently, fans of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon were reminded of the franchise again. The reason was information received from insider RogueTX.
He claims that the new Ghost Recon resembles Ready or Not (a tactical shooter in the spirit of the cult classic SWAT 4). The user interface will be more limited compared to previous games in the franchise, and the setting will be Asia.
Another well-known insider, j0nathan, noticed the post and decided to share his information, but made a disclaimer: "it's a bit old now, so I don't remember everything":
- The new Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon will feature something like a base that needs to be managed. There will also be characters that players choose to send on missions.
- These characters will need to be leveled up to increase their effectiveness with weekly quests and more.
- A permadeath system was planned, similar to Hunt: Showdown, but j0nathan thinks it has already been removed "because playtesters found it too annoying."
The latest modern installments, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands and Ghost Recon Breakpoint, continue to attract some players. On Steam, the peak online player count remains around 1-3 thousand players.
