Sony recently announced on social media a new round of price increases for PlayStation Plus subscriptions. The company explained its decision by "current market conditions".

The increase will affect new PS Plus subscribers starting May 20. Sony clarified that the changes will not affect users who have already subscribed, but only until their current subscription expires.

There is an exception – the PS Plus price increase will affect all users in India and Turkey.

The new price for a basic PS Plus subscription will be $11 (previously $10), and a 3-month subscription will cost $28 (previously $25). In Europe, the new price will be 10 and 28 euros, respectively.

Sony has not yet published a full list of regions that will be affected by the PS Plus price increase. The announcement uses the wording "certain regions".

The company also did not specify whether this PS Plus price increase will only affect the basic version or if a revision of other tariffs is planned.

Earlier in April, Sony revised the price of PlayStation 5 – consoles became more expensive in some markets.
