Starbreeze Entertainment studio handed over Payday 2 support to a group of modder-developers, and they continue to release not only technical patches but also new content. In May, they introduced Update 246 with various improvements and weapons.
They added a Flare Gun to the game, as well as two new melee weapons — a frying pan and an olive branch.
Also, a new mask pattern, Reinforced Visor, appeared in Payday 2:
The developers fixed various bugs and made balance adjustments. Changes also affected the reward drop system from "cards" — now the system takes into account masks already in the collection, so models that players don't yet own will drop more frequently.
On the "Nightclub" map, Titan cameras will no longer appear on high difficulty levels. The developers noticed player complaints — they disliked that an indestructible camera could appear with a certain chance, and they would restart the heist multiple times until it disappeared.
