The creators of fheroes2 released update 1.1.16 in May. This project is positioned as a multiplatform remake of the classic Heroes of Might and Magic II.

In this update, modders focused on the Map Editor. For example, players can now draw roads and rivers simply by setting the desired trajectory with the mouse. Previously, each fragment had to be placed by clicking on map cells.

In addition, it will now be possible to move individual objects on the map. The developers noted that this function "was highly demanded and was absent even in the original Editor." Thanks to "moving," players will be able to quickly adjust existing landscapes without having to rebuild them from scratch.

The developers also reported that the new version of the fheroes2 editor allows placing objects partially outside the map boundaries:

This opens up new possibilities for creating unique landscapes and creates the feeling that the map is part of a much larger world.

Modders sped up the application launch, added Esperanto support, and fixed the animation speed of hero turns.

The "fheroes2" project is distributed free of charge and published on GitHub (ihhub). The full list of changes in update 1.1.16 is available at the following link.
