In May, Satisfactory developers introduced the experimental Update 1.2. Players are invited to test new content, mechanics, and technical improvements.

Rain has returned to the game, and according to the developers, it “is better than ever”:

Since we last showed it off in Update 6, we’ve significantly improved it – adding more advanced visuals such as buildings and the pioneer suit getting wet, improved wind and fog, introduced several rain density variants, thunder, and much more! Thanks to the new support system, rain will now be blocked by most constructions, foundations, and walls, which affects both visuals and sound, creating a much more atmospheric environment around your factories and the entire world.

Players will be able to customize the frequency and intensity of rain in the new “World” tab in the settings menu. The game engine has been updated to Unreal Engine 5.6.1, which “resulted in improved performance across the board.”

In addition, Satisfactory developers improved gamepad support — now you can “seamlessly switch between mouse and keyboard to controller without changing them in the settings menu” (the “Dynamic Gamepad Swap” option is available). With each button/key press on the gamepad or keyboard, the game will automatically adjust to the control type being used.

Improvements have been made to vehicle control, SPWN and Fluid Station buildings have appeared, and players also have access to a Truck for transporting and storing liquids — its capacity is 3200 cubic meters.
