Players will be able to make some noise on the islands and get valuable loot.

The developers of Path of Exile 2 continue to introduce the community to the novelties of the upcoming update, "Return of the Ancients." In this update, logbooks will be significantly changed:

It's time to set sail like true pioneers. Yes, you can explore the ocean. To the southeast of the Atlas lies a vast ocean with new landscapes and treasures to unearth.

In a new video, Path of Exile 2 Game Director Jonathan Rogers explained that in the "Aldur's Ruins," when encountering expeditions, players will be able to find logbooks, and after using them, a small part of the ocean will open up. When the "fog" recedes, many new islands will appear, most of which players have not seen, and each will have expedition events.

As part of these "events," players will have to blow up the remains of buried Kalguurans, bringing them back to life to kill them again and steal their loot. Expeditions now also include Aldur's Rune crafting relics, providing new opportunities with a wide selection of recipes.

However, players will encounter not only buried dead. According to Jonathan Rogers, on each island, you can "find something and blow it up," such as siren eggs:

On the Whitewashed Shores, you'll find siren eggs scattered across the area, as well as shells containing an unexpected amount of riches. When you destroy the eggs, a brood of sirens will emerge from the water. But be careful. If you destroy enough eggs, the Siren herself will appear to protect her offspring.

As they explore new parts of the ocean, players will be able to find ancient vaults, "a bunch of new bosses," underground areas, and "other surprises."

The release of the Path of Exile 2 "Return of the Ancients" update is scheduled for May 29.
