Embracer's strategy to bring back well-known franchises will be a consequence of the company's restructuring and division into smaller entities. The Middle-earth Enterprises & Friends division concluded that independent development of large AAA projects is currently too risky.

The company is considering various forms of cooperation: licensing brands to third-party studios, co-development, and co-publishing. The goal is to reduce financial risks while preventing iconic series from "gathering dust on the shelf."

Particular attention is focused on Deus Ex. It is known that the new installment from Eidos-Montréal was canceled as part of cutbacks. Finding a partner could revive the project.

For players, this means a chance for the return of series that have not received strong releases in a long time. This is especially true for Saints Row, which found itself in a dead end after an unsuccessful reboot.

Embracer emphasizes that their franchises still have high commercial potential, and the company does not plan to abandon them.
