Helldivers 2 to get Warhammer 40,000 collab and become more technologically advanced - optimization improvements announced
Fans have long been asking for content based on the Warhammer 40,000 franchise.
The developers of the co-op shooter Helldivers 2 have announced a technical update designed to improve optimization and add support for modern technologies to the game:
When the pressure is on, every frame matters. This update focuses on three key areas: stability, reduced latency, and advanced upscaling technologies – to ensure stable performance even in the most demanding moments.
The Helldivers 2 update will be available on PC and consoles:
- PC – will receive AMD FSR 4.0.3 and FSR 3.1.5, NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, and Intel XeSS 3.0.
- PlayStation 5 Pro – PSSR 1
- PlayStation 5 – AMD FSR 3.1
- Xbox – AMD FSR 3.1
In addition, Arrowhead Game Studios will add other technologies to Helldivers 2:
- PC will get NVIDIA Reflex and AMD Anti-Lag 2 support – to reduce input lag.
- Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) – on PS5 and PS5 Pro, this technology will reduce possible “stuttering” associated with V-Sync, without screen tearing on compatible displays.
- Variable Rate Shading (VRS) – this technology will “intelligently reduce the shading level” in certain areas of the image to lower the GPU load, while maintaining quality where it matters.
- Dynamic Resolution Scaling (DRS) – implemented for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, to maintain a stable frame rate in more demanding scenes.
The base resolution will also be increased to 1440p in “Performance” mode on PS5 and Xbox Series X, as well as in “Quality” mode on PS5 in power-saving mode.
The Helldivers 2 update is scheduled for release on May 27. The update will also include additional fixes.
A Helldivers 2 collab with Warhammer 40,000 was also announced – the trailer is available at the following link. A themed Warbond will be added to the game.
