Russia to Host Team Fortress 2 Tournament - Valve Publishes Announcement for Fan Event
Competitive Team Fortress 2 still enjoys a certain popularity, including in Russia.
This summer, an esports event for Team Fortress 2 is planned to be held in Russia. The announcement of the upcoming “Moscow LAN” was also published by Valve in the online shooter's community on Steam.
Players are invited to register via Discord* and VK until July 31. This is an offline tournament in a “6 vs 6” format, which will take place on August 15, 2026, at the T-Arena club in Moscow.
Players, like SnakeShifter, call the company “based”. Some users were very surprised to see such an announcement in the Team Fortress 2 community on Steam:
********, TF2 is so popular here that there's even a news item for the game on Steam
The VK community “Moscow.TF” published the Russian-language version of the “Moscow LAN” tournament poster:
Team Fortress 2 has not received full content updates for a long time, but Valve still continues to support the game. The company releases updates with additional cosmetic items and maps (created by the community), and also fixes various bugs (fans actively help with this as well).
