Embark boss apologizes to Arc Raiders developers and announces new roadmap
The manager wants to provide content updates to players faster.
Embark Studios head Patrick Söderlund participated in The Fourth Curtain podcast in May. During the interview, he confirmed that the creators of Arc Raiders will soon announce further plans for the project.
Arc Raiders has become a big hit, and Patrick now considers it his duty to provide players with “much more” content:
This may sound strange, but thanks to the success of our creators, we are in a position where, I think, we owe it to ourselves and to the players to give much more — just to make sure people have something to do in the game.
Söderlund also said that he recently “even had to apologize” to the Arc Raiders project leaders. The manager was unhappy with the speed of development and content release, although he admitted that this was unfair to the game's developers, who “really work hard”:
And, you know, I'll be honest with you: I even had to apologize to the [Arc Raiders] leadership team yesterday because I was in a bad mood. I told them, “I'm sorry, I'm just not happy with the speed at which we're creating content and supplying it to the community.” And that's unfair — that's my fault, that's “bad Patrick” talking. It's unfair to the developers, they really work hard.
In the “near future,” the creators of Arc Raiders will publish a roadmap for future content with “more detailed information than we have given before”
Developers recently changed their approach to releasing updates — the next major release is expected in October 2026.
