The "Ofizdat!" publishing house has launched a campaign for the tabletop role-playing game "Wanderhome" on the crowdfunding platform CrowdRepublic. This project received ENnie Awards in the nominations "Best Family Game," "Best Cover Art," and "Best Interior Art," and was also a finalist for the Nebula Award in the category "Best Game Writing."
It can now be pre-ordered for 3670 rubles. "Wanderhome" is a pastoral TTRPG about traveling beastfolk in the fantasy world of the Vast Dale, inspired by the works of Brian Jacques, Tove Jansson, and Hayao Miyazaki.
In "Wanderhome," each player creates a character using one of fifteen playable archetypes, defining their personality, animal form, appearance, and hobbies. Each archetype offers a completely different approach to interacting with the world and developing the character over time.
There are no dice in "Wanderhome." Instead, characters gain tokens when they put themselves in an uncomfortable position or step outside their comfort zone, and then spend them to overcome serious difficulties.
Thanks to sponsors, the team has already raised 201,000 rubles, which means the "Wanderhome" book will receive thicker 115 gsm offset paper, while retaining its soft cover and glued-sewn binding.
Upon reaching 330,000 rubles, the book will transition to a full 7BC hardcover, and will also receive colored endpapers (the paper will remain 115 gsm). If 380,000 rubles are collected, the book will include a ribbon bookmark. At 470,000 rubles, the book will become even more pleasant to the touch and visually appealing. The paper density will increase to 130 gsm.
Upon reaching 600,000 ₽, the edition will acquire a blue head-and-tail band, which will complement the overall design of the book and emphasize its atmosphere. At the 750,000 ruble mark, the maximum edition upgrade will be unlocked. "Wanderhome" will receive an extra-durable hardcover made of 3 mm thick cardboard instead of the standard 1.9 mm, dense 130 gsm offset paper, colored endpapers, two ribbon bookmarks – white and gold, a blue head-and-tail band, and gold foiling on the cover and spine.
If the pre-order amount reaches 850,000 rubles, each book will additionally include a free dust jacket with alternative artwork. Delivery of the game is expected to start in November 2026. A review of this TTRPG can be found on the Cozy RPG Reviews YouTube channel.
