The Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty expansion was released without Russian voice acting. In 2023, GamesVoice studio tried to do it, but legal problems arose.

At that time, CD Projekt RED considered the initiative "undesirable," but in 2026, the situation changed. The localizers announced the launch of a fundraiser for the Russian voice acting of "Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty":

We need very little — 3,002,077 rubles. For us, this project has the highest priority. We have already enlisted the support of key voice actors from the original game. Regular thematic publications on social networks are planned. But all this will only happen with your help! We didn't want to use cliché phrases like "the future of Russian dubbing is once again in your hands," but... the future of Russian dubbing is once again in your hands! Don't let us down!

GamesVoice clarified that there is still a risk of the project being curtailed — if everything falls through, the collected funds will be directed to the localization of GTA: San Andreas:

Representatives of the developer publicly confirmed that our activities do not violate their fan-creation agreement. Nevertheless, we must warn you that if, for reasons beyond our control, we have to stop collecting and abandon the project, the funds already collected will go towards the GTA: San Andreas progress bar. Please take this into account.
