Recently, Counter-Strike creator Minh "Gooseman" Le spoke with Hellcase. He talked about what he would like to change in the online shooter CS2.
According to the developer, he tried to contact Valve and offer his help in working on weapon animations in Counter-Strike 2, but the company did not respond to him:
I guess they're happy with how Counter-Strike is progressing right now, and I'm not sure I could contribute to the project. If I were to go back [to Valve] then, I would like to work on weapons, improve their animations, and maybe work on creating a map or a level.
Weapon animations, Gooseman noted, are the part of the game where his contribution still remains:
I feel like after 20 years, I could make the animations look a little better, but it's great to see that they're still using the same animations.
Minh Le admitted that he had been away from Counter-Strike for too long, so his return to work on the project might not have made sense. He also added that he has a good relationship with Valve: "I think Counter-Strike is in a very good state right now."
