After months of rumors, Sony officially revealed a new game in the God of War universe. The main character will be Faye – Kratos' wife and one of the key figures in the Norse saga.
At the presentation, viewers were shown the debut trailer, told about the plot, and revealed details of the gameplay. But the absence of a release date immediately raised questions among fans, who assumed that they would have to wait several more years for the release.
Jason Schreier commented on the situation:
I wouldn't attach much importance to the fact that God of War: Laufey didn't even get an approximate release window. Unlike many other major announcements, this game is not several years away from release.
This aligns with earlier rumors that the project is in an advanced stage of development. According to unofficial data, God of War: Laufey could be released in the first months of 2027.
