Subnautica 2's First Major Update Will Be Its "Scariest Ever" and Add What Players Are Asking For
Players won't have to start a new game to explore the next region.
The creators of Subnautica 2 have started teasing the game's first major update. According to the game's lead designer, a new region, "the Collector Leviathan's home," will be added to the game, bringing new creatures, resources, and being tied to progression and story:
Our goal is to allow you to continue playing without having to start over on a new save, just picking up where you left off. I think this will be the scariest version of the game to date, and I can't wait for you to try it.
And he added that this update will add "some of the most requested user experiences [player experience / game elements]."
The Subnautica 2 developer also noted that Unknown Worlds Entertainment is happy to see so many people playing multiplayer, and the community can expect several "small but interesting" updates in the "near future." Emotes and proximity voice chat, improvements to the biomod system, and refinements to gameplay related to wreckage and encounters with infected terrain are all in the works.
A technical update for Subnautica 2 was recently released, which fixed several critical bugs and added support for modern NVIDIA technology.
