The combat system is based on the story of Laufey herself, the legendary protector of giants. The authors developed the ideas of the latest God of War games, but also decided to bring back some elements from the classic installments of the series.

One of the main innovations is a full-fledged jump. Thanks to it, battles have become more vertical: Faye can freely combine ground and air attacks, quickly dodge threats, and use mobility for both offense and defense.

The heroine's legendary sword plays an important role. Its style is built on speed, control, and constant pressure on opponents. Attack series allow for increasing tempo and maintaining continuous combinations.

The developers also revealed details about giant magic. As the Golden Hand of the Jotun, Faye can manipulate the souls of enemies. She can tear a soul from a body, attack it directly, transfer it between opponents, and use it in complex combos.

Companions will also be part of the combat system. The swordswoman Rue helps create joint combinations, and the mysterious cube Prank supports the heroine in battle by tossing enemies and participating in attacks. A separate skill tree is provided for companions.

According to Santa Monica Studio, players can also expect giant monsters, gods, and large-scale cinematic sequences.
