According to Stop Killing Games, Guillemot participated in a closed event organized by Video Games Europe, one of the largest lobbying organizations in the European gaming industry. The meeting took place just two weeks before the European Commission's expected response to the Stop Killing Games citizens' initiative.

The movement's organizers published an open letter reminding that Ubisoft was at the center of the conflict after shutting down The Crew servers in 2024. At that time, game owners lost access to the purchased product, which became the starting point for the campaign.

However, Stop Killing Games does not demand eternal server support. Activists advocate for rules that would oblige publishers to maintain the ability to launch games after official support ends, for example, through offline mode or private servers.

According to the organizers, the situation seems controversial when one party gets the opportunity to communicate directly with officials, while the other remains outside the discussion.

If the European Commission supports some of Stop Killing Games' proposals, publishers will have to change their approach to ending support for their games.
