The creators of Helldivers 2 have released a new development diary dedicated to the future of the cooperative shooter. They plan to make many changes to key elements of the game.

In June, Arrowhead Game Studios will launch "Galactic War campaigns" – the next stage in the evolution of the order system. These campaigns will last from one to three weeks, the goal is for the community to have a clear understanding of which campaign is currently active, how it is developing, what the results and risks are.

The developers believe that players "should earn more than just medals" – the reward system promises to be improved. The creators of Helldivers 2 intend to experiment – they may offer effects that influence gameplay, "cool items," and more.

The "Planet Warfronts" system should make the Galactic War a more interesting activity – it will bring a roguelite spirit to the game. The developers want to implement their vision of "galactic fronts."

Players will be offered to fight to reach key strategic points on planets (these can be cities). Currently, "liberation" looks like an abstract filling of a progress bar, and the developers want to add effects and consequences to the game that affect gameplay when liberation goals are achieved.

Feedback on player progression in Helldivers 2 has been heard, and the developers have "long-term plans." They confirmed that a complete overhaul of the ship module system is underway, and they also want to add new ships.

The maximum player level will be raised to 300, the in-game economy will be reworked, the interface will be improved, and more.
