SAW: Genesis is an asymmetric multiplayer horror game from Bloober Team and Anshar Studios, set 100 years before the events of "Saw": four players will face off in a procedurally generated labyrinth - one as the cruel Judge, three as his victims.

At Summer Game Fest, Bloober Team, through its publishing label Broken Mirror Games, and Anshar Studios unveiled SAW: Genesis, a new game set in the "Saw" universe. Instead of a single-player horror game, the developers are creating an asymmetric multiplayer project for four players.

The events will unfold more than a hundred years before the films, immediately after the end of World War I. The story will center on the Judge, who is called the predecessor of the methods that Jigsaw would later make famous.

One player will take on the role of the Judge. He will not directly hunt victims but will control the trials from the shadows. He will have at his disposal hidden passages, noise tracking systems, hallucinogenic gases, paralyzing toxins, and an assistant capable of dragging the Condemned into traps.

The other three players will play as the Condemned. They will have to cooperate, solve puzzles, find clues, and try to escape from the procedurally generated labyrinth.

The developers promise traps in the style of the "Saw" films, where difficult decisions will have to be made. Injuries sustained will affect gameplay: a damaged arm will make solving puzzles more difficult, and an injured leg will slow down movement.
