Claire Redfield is back: a comparison of Resident Evil VERONICA with the original has been published
Judging by the first comparisons, Capcom is preparing a full-fledged remake, not a graphical update: Resident Evil VERONICA features redesigned characters, updated locations, and a dark atmosphere in the spirit of the RE2 and RE4 remakes - the release is scheduled for 2027.
After the announcement of Resident Evil VERONICA at Summer Game Fest, the first comparison of the remake with the original Resident Evil Code: Veronica appeared online. Capcom has prepared a complete overhaul of the game, not just a simple graphical update.
The developers have improved the visual part of the project. Changes affected character models, animations, and locations.
The footage shows a new version of Claire Redfield, redesigned locations, and an updated Rockfort Island. Thanks to the RE Engine, the game has a darker atmosphere, improved lighting, and detailed enemies.
Resident Evil VERONICA will send players to the zombie-infested Rockfort Island. The developers promise modern gameplay, increased realism, and a greater emphasis on survival horror elements.
The release is scheduled for 2027. The game will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
