The Pines tells the story of former detective Edward Walker, who finds himself at the center of a mysterious conspiracy in an isolated resort town.
Trying to recover after a failed investigation, Walker arrives at The Pines complex. However, behind the calm atmosphere lie cults, lies, and inexplicable events. Players will have to explore an open world, make decisions, and influence the fates of local residents.
Gameplay is built around investigations, character development, and survival. The hero will be able to search for clues, interrogate suspects, and develop skills that determine the playstyle – from diplomacy and stealth to direct confrontations. Due to a shortage of ammunition, the emphasis is on melee combat using axes, baseball bats, and other improvised weapons.
The main feature will be the Stalker System. The world reacts to the player's actions: careless decisions or revealed secrets can turn ordinary residents into dangerous pursuers. The developers promise constant tension and a blurring of the line between reality and paranoia.
