The release of Gothic 1 Remake recently took place. The original game was released in 2001 — it may be older than some modern critics of the project.

As often happens, soon after the remake's release, it attracted the attention not only of fans of the first part and ordinary players, but also of outside observers, such as the user under the nickname Justin323.

He criticized it — he was bothered by the presence of black characters in the world of "Gothic" and saw the influence of the agenda in it:

So, now some characters have become black. These are the castle guards. They used to be white, and now they are black:

Andbt supported him and stated that he would not buy Gothic 1 Remake:

Another reason not to buy this, thank you.

However, some people, including Justin323 himself, quickly realized their mistake. Those familiar with the first "Gothic" explained that black characters were present before.

For example, menten15 recalled the existence of such characters in the original, but admitted that the developers might have increased the number of black NPCs in the remake:

Gothic always had a few black characters, but it wouldn't surprise me if in the remake they take it to a new level, so they are literally everywhere.

According to Steam reviews, many players were not bothered by the "appearance" of black characters in the game — Gothic 1 Remake received "very positive" reviews. Negative reviews also exist, but they are related to technical issues.
