Black Tower Basement and Nordcurrent Labs have unveiled the trailer for Defender of the Crown: The Legend Returns. This is a remake of the classic 1980s game that "defined a new type of cinematic strategy games."
Now it has been re-engineered and is returning to modern platforms. The developers will offer several game modes:
- Retro Mode — the Amiga classic, preserved almost unchanged with minor quality improvements.
- Classic Mode — a reimagined classic, players will be offered a new visual style, as well as improved gameplay mechanics and "smoother game system operation."
- Kingdom Mode — a new roguelike-inspired challenge. Players can expect procedurally generated maps, a special dice mechanic, unlockable abilities, and several difficulty levels to ensure "each playthrough remains unpredictable."
