A new trailer for Halo: Campaign Evolved was shown at the "XBOX Games Showcase 2026" presentation. The remake of the shooter is being developed by the Halo Studios team.
The project's creators revealed that the Halo: CE remake will feature a story arc called Operation: Meteorite, which is a prequel chronologically. The developers will introduce three new missions: the story will center on Master Chief and Sergeant Johnson, who infiltrate a mysterious Covenant ship on a secret mission.
Halo: Campaign Evolved is positioned as a modernized remake of the Halo: Combat Evolved campaign:
Discover the original story, recreated with high-definition visuals, updated cinematics, and improved controls, plus an all-new three-mission adventure featuring Master Chief and Sergeant Johnson. An expanded arsenal of weapons, vehicles, and enemies, as well as "Skulls" (additional modifiers that change gameplay) add new tactics and endless replayability.
Halo: Campaign Evolved can be added to your Steam wishlist via this link. The release is scheduled for July 28, 2026, on PC, Xbox Series X|S consoles, and PlayStation 5. Owners of the Premium Edition will have the opportunity to start playing five days earlier.
