Konami Revives Castlevania. New Belmont's Curse Gameplay Revealed

At the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, Konami unveiled a new trailer for Castlevania: Belmont's Curse. The project is being developed in collaboration with Evil Empire studio and will be the first entirely new game in the series in many years.

The development coincides with the 40th anniversary of the Castlevania franchise. The creators position Belmont's Curse as a spiritual successor to the classic installments of the series that were released in past decades.

During the showcase, the developers from Evil Empire, known for Dead Cells, demonstrated the combat system and boss battles. Judging by the footage, the game focuses on dynamic battles, exploration of locations, and a dark atmosphere.

Despite the bright and sometimes pastel color palette, the project retains the recognizable gothic style of the series. The developers specifically noted that the key art for the game was created by Katsuya Terada.

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse will be released on October 15, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
