Recently, Relic Entertainment announced the development of a remaster of the classic strategy game Company of Heroes, presented a trailer, and opened a page in the Steam store.
The new version is called Company of Heroes Definitive Edition. In addition to the original CoH, it will also include the add-ons Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor.
The developers will implement support for 64-bit operating systems and improve the visual component – troop and environment textures, lighting, and world shadows will be refined.
The creators of CoH Definitive Edition have prepared additional features that will make the strategy more convenient, and the enemy's artificial intelligence will work better and challenge even CoH veterans:
Quality of life improvements have been added, including reverse movement for vehicles and the ability to automatically replenish combat unit losses at your headquarters. The AI has been improved to provide a more dynamic and engaging game, and the new “Relentless” AI difficulty level challenges even the most seasoned veterans of the game.
The developers said that Company of Heroes DE has been adapted to modern widescreen formats for wide and ultrawide displays, and the controls have been modernized – grid key support and custom hotkeys have been added.
You can add Company of Heroes Definitive Edition to your Steam wishlist via this link. The release is expected in autumn 2026.
