Thief The Dark Project Remastered Announced After 27 Years - First Look at the Updated Stealth Game

Nightdive Studios announced the development of Thief: The Dark Project Remastered. The developers will improve the graphics of the cult stealth game and implement additional enhancements.

The story centers on the orphan Garrett, who was saved by the Keepers – a secret ancient order that maintains balance in the world. The hero underwent training and became a skilled thief:

Using minimal weapons and maximum stealth, you must stay in the shadows and act quietly, completing tasks and collecting loot with minimal casualties. Use a blackjack to stun enemies, a sword when combat is inevitable, and a variety of unique arrows to aid in stealth operations. As you progress, you will uncover the secret plans of allies and enemies in a story full of deception and revenge.

Among the features of Thief: The Dark Project Remastered, the developers highlight:

  • Graphical improvements to textures, models, animations, and more.
  • Minor fixes to the original level design.

  • Support for modern gamepads – new weapon wheel, haptic feedback, and motion/gyro controls added.
