The result is particularly notable against the backdrop of Monster Hunter Wilds, which, despite a strong start, failed to maintain its initial sales pace.

Monster Hunter World has held the status of Capcom's main hit for several years. The figure includes sales of the base version and the Iceborne Master Edition. The game was released in 2018 and, eight years after its release, continues to attract new players, regularly appearing in the company's charts.

For comparison, Monster Hunter Wilds had an extremely successful launch — over 8 million copies in the first three days, making it the fastest-selling project in Capcom's history.

However, the game later encountered problems. Throughout 2025, players complained about optimization, performance, and stability. Capcom released updates, but some of the audience considered them insufficient.

Despite this, Wilds remains one of the biggest hits of recent years. Capcom also announced the Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance expansion and confirmed the development of a version for Nintendo Switch 2.
