Recently, a new Deltarune trailer for Chapter 5 was shown at the Nintendo presentation. Soon after, developer tobyfox published a new blog and spoke about the current state of the project.
The previous chapter took place in the Dark Fountains, so the developer will offer something different:
In Chapter 4, we were looking at dark clouds... So let's not look there for now. Let's turn around and look at the sun before it sets. Let's smile again, and go on another fun adventure, okay?
Development of Deltarune Chapter 6, according to tobyfox, is going well. Progress has been made in producing cutscenes and NPC interactions, and core gameplay mechanics, bosses, and enemies have been created.
tobyfox suggests that work on Deltarune Chapter 7 might begin as early as this year:
This chapter is easier to make than others, so development is going quite fast. It sounds crazy, but it's possible that some team members will start working on Chapter 7 before the end of the year.
The release of the new Deltarune Chapter 5 is scheduled for all platforms on the same day — June 24, 2026.
tobyfox hinted that players can expect many surprises in the new chapter:
I want to surprise people who will play this chapter, so I avoided showing the most exciting moments. (Which, however, is the opposite of what you should usually do when creating a trailer...)
