The start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup is approaching. Some people are trying to predict the winner of the major sporting event. Electronic Arts also traditionally shared its opinion on this matter.
EA has been releasing football simulators for a long time, and with the help of its EA Sports FC 26, it decided to simulate matches: it pitted bot players against each other on the field. This way, it tried to determine who would win the World Cup this year.
The company did not disclose details but announced that the Spanish national team became the winner of the tournament in their simulation.
Electronic Arts has an impressive reputation for such match simulations, as the company has correctly predicted the winners of the FIFA World Cups four times in a row. In 2010, Spain indeed dominated; in 2014, EA accurately predicted Germany's victory; in 2018, France; and in 2022, Argentina won.
For EA Sports FC 26, the developers have prepared a special tournament mode called The World's Game.
A new official game for the FIFA franchise was recently unveiled – the project's presentation did not impress some gamers.
