In May, modder xoxor4d announced the release of update 1.3.0 for his RTX remaster of Grand Theft Auto IV. At that time, he fixed several bugs and continued to work on improving the graphics.
In June, xoxor4d returned and introduced update 1.3.1. He stated that the settings of the new tonemapper, introduced in the previous version of the remaster, were slightly adjusted (nights became a little brighter). Also, “code cleanup” was performed, and vehicle coloring was fixed (in 1.3.0, liveries were incorrectly toned).
In addition, the modder improved ray reconstruction – he changed the DLSS Ray Reconstruction model to Model D, which should “eliminate noise in reflections.”
xoxor4d continues to distribute his project “gta4-rtx” (GTAIV RTX Remix Compatibility Mod) for free via GitHub. A full description of update 1.3.1 is available at the following link.
Earlier this year, a Grand Theft Auto IV fan managed to acquire an Xbox 360 devkit, which contained an older version of the game. Thanks to this find, players were able to explore the beta map and also restored some content that Rockstar developers did not include in the release version.
